Moody’s State Title Paces LG Wrestlers

The Locust Grove High School varsity wrestling team had a strong showing in the state tournament last year with only half a line up. The wrestling program is one of the best in the country. We go head to head with the Ola High School wrestling program. Locust Grove had one student win the State Championship for 106 lbs and two state placers.
According to Coach Nick Fordham, “We finished 5th place in the state as a team at the State Duals Tournament with only 10 wrestlers. We had 4 kids a match away from placing in the blood round. We also had a 3rd place finisher (Tristan Malette) at 113 pounds.”
Mason Moody was the Locust Grove Wildcat 106 pound five-star state champion. He was only a sophomore when he won. His plan is to win another one at 113 pounds and hope he will be able to commit to Penn State University. Mason has been wrestling for only 5 years and he does a program for all year round wrestling. Lets see how well Mason Moody will do this year, will he win state for 113 pounds?
