Forza Horizon 5 is a Great Racing Game

James Petsch, Staff Writer

Forza Horizon 5 is an adventurous racing simulation game. The game is the 5th title in the Forza Horizon franchise and counterpart to the developers Forza Motorsport. The game is a hyper realistic open world game that is set in a fictional representation of Mexico. The game is rated 10/10 from IGN’s perspective. We all know how unaccurate these ratings can be. Therefore, I had to try this game out for myself to see if it really lived up to the hype.

As I played Forza Horizon 5 on my Xbox Series S I noticed the graphics were amazing. The gameplay was very smooth even while playing on cloud gaming. The controls felt very smooth as well. As the player I had the opportunity to race competitively in different modes and mini games and also freeroam. This is very nice as it makes for more adventurous and free gameplay. In the settings of the game you can also choose to drive to control the vehicle with an automatic transmission or a manual transmission. In these menus you will also find the ability to turn on and off stability and traction control. This is amazing because it allows the player to feel like they have control over the car.

Overall the game feels amazing. The gameplay was also great with multiple ways to play and many game modes to explore. The graphics were amazing and could run 60fps at 4k resolution. In my opinion the controls were the best part of the game as it allows the player to feel like they are really engaging in the action.  .The controls allow the players to do many more things that simply cannot be done in other racing games like Need For Speed. Finally,  after reviewing this hyper realistic racing game, I can honestly say that IGN’s rating is nothing but true. This is just simply because its gameplay, controls, and graphics does not compare to any other racing game. I loved playing this game and I would also give it a 10/10. I would definitely recommend picking this game up if you want to try a realistic racing game.
