Boys Basketball Falls after Strong Showing in Tournament Opener
February 5, 2020
The boys basketball team, finishing the season with the best record in school history, lost 61-53 after a strong effort against Eagle’s Landing in the first round of the regional tournament on Tuesday night.
Geo Strachan led the team with 17 points, Billy Ward had 13 points, and David Laurent chipped in 10 points, to help the Wildcats hang tough against the number 2 team in the region. The close score reflected the improvement shown this year by the squad, who posted the first winning season in school history at 14-13.
Coach Harrell expressed well-founded optimism heading into the offseason: “We are only losing three seniors from this team going into next year. The future is bright.”
