Wildcats Fall 21-7, but Fans Have a Great Time

Lucienne De Busschere, Reporter

“Let’s Go Wildcats, Let’s Go!” was heard throughout the stadium as the Locust Grove Wildcats faced off against the Northgate Vikings. Though the Wildcats lost to a final score of 21-7, fans couldn’t have had a better time.

Out of This World was definitely the caption for Friday night’s game. Students, teachers, friends, and family dressed in their finest alien or cowboy get-ups. The stands were filled with glitter and cowboy hats galore as the student section, organized by this year’s SGA members, chanted along with the varsity cheerleaders for a win for LGHS.

“SGA did a great job organizing the student section and I had a great time!” Holly De Busschere exclaimed when asked her thoughts on the game.

The crowd even threw colored powder in the air after the Wildcats scored their first touchdown, as Blaise Maddox passed to Jayden Gaskin for 7 yards for the 7 yard score.

“What are those kids smoking?” shouted one mom in the stands when the colored powder filled the air.

Seconds after the first Wildcat touchdown Mr. Townsend ran down to the field. He joined the cheerleaders in doing 7 push ups for the touchdown. Wildcat fans went wild when their principal joined the cheerleaders in their push ups. Two SGA members ran behind the group with Wildcat flags.

Even though we lost, I’ll say this game was definitely one for the books!
