SpaceX Does it Again

There was recently an historic launch at Cape Canaveral, Florida, by SpaceX.

What is SpaceX and why should people be interested in it?

SpaceX is a company that makes rockets and such just like NASA. Their base, named Star Base in Boca

Chica,Texas, is where some rockets are built, two being the Falcon 9 and the Starship. The company is owned by Elon Musk. Musk also has 2 other companies,Tesla, and Neurolink.

This launch was the first ever all-civilian crew, meaning they were just normal people and weren’t actually astronauts. Four people were aboard, Jared Isaacman, Sian Proctor, Hayley Arceneaux, and Christopher Sembroski. Hayley was actually the youngest person ever to go into space.

The interesting thing about the Falcon 9 and SpaceX are the reusable stages. With the help of AI the stage lands itself perfectly.

They stayed in orbit around Earth for 3 days. The mission was the first orbital spaceflight with only private citizens aboard.

According to an article on CNBC, Elon Musk said, “SpaceX is also trying to achieve getting the first people to mars to inhabit it so that humans can be the first multi-planetary species.” The ship he says that is going to be used is the StarShip. Very recently they stacked the first stage and the Starship together. Musk also says that he may be able to do the first orbital launch of the Starship by the end of September. Spacex was also chosen by NASA to carry people to the moon with the Starship. This mission is called Artemis. Artemis is making a goal by 2024 to get to the moon; no one has been on the moon since 1971 when the Apollo spacecraft landed there.
