Mr. O’Neal Returns to LGHS to Teach Agriculture
April 1, 2022
Mr. O’Neal is a new teacher at Locust Grove High School. He teaches Basic Agriculture and FFA. He is from Locust Grove and went to Locust Grove High School when he was in high school.
He kept a good relationship with Ms. Brown while he was in college and he got an opportunity to teach here after he graduated from college and he took it. His family never moved while he was in college so it was a great thing for him to have a job in the same town as his family. He went to Abraham Baldwin Agricultural College. He has only had one other professional job which is when he taught at Eastside High School last school year in Covington.
Mr. O’Neal was really involved with FFA when he was in high school and knew he wanted to teach agriculture. One of Mr. O’Neal’s favorite things about teaching is when a student has a really rewarding experience through agriculture and being able create experiences for students that they will remember.
On the down side of teaching there is always a pre-break fog that we experience from students. There is a lack of motivation every time right before we are about to go on break which Mr. O’Neal strongly dislikes. He would like for everyone to know that he likes turtles and that he even has a pet turtle. In Mr. O’Neal’s opinion Agriculture is the best pathway at Locust Grove High School and everybody should take it.
